The Gymea Lily is an iconic flowering plant endemic to my hometown of Sydney Australia. Its massive sword-shaped leaves can be as big as 1 meter long and it grows a flower spike up to 6 meters tall. The flower head is a massive cluster of bright red flowers, each up to 10 cm long. These grow in gardens, in the bush and along the highways. Such a stunning and architectural flower.
