Jacks, also known as Knucklebones, Tali or Fivestones has been around since Ancient Greece or earlier. Originally made from sheep’s bones, 5 or 10 bones were thrown up in the air and caught different manners (catch one or two etc). The ones I used to play with were not bone, they were plastic and exactly like the ones in the drawing Its great fun and fantastic for developing fine motor skills and good hand-eye coordination. I think I need to get myself a set and start playing again.
