Finnish designs have had a huge influence on the creative world and few more than those from the house of Marimekko. Textiles, fashion and furnishings displaying bold Marimekko designs dominated the 1960’s and have never stopped being relevant. The bold colours and simple geometric shapes have gone on to influence modern design and would be at home on any wall today ♥ One of their most iconic designs is Unikko (translates to poppy in English). It was first released in 1964 just after the company announced that they would never release a floral design 😛
